Enhancements
Greater visibility into actual Microsoft 365 license usage
You can now determine whether assigned Microsoft 365 licenses are actively being used, not just whether they have been assigned. The assistant analyzes Microsoft 365 activity data to identify licenses that show no service activity during the reporting period and can prepare license reclamation actions through the standard preview-and-approval workflow. Fleet-wide licensing requests now include an option to check actual license usage.
More transparent license reclamation recommendations
License reclamation recommendations now identify services that are not covered by Microsoft's activity reporting. Because Microsoft activity reports are limited to Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Skype for Business, and Yammer, the assistant now explicitly notes when services such as Intune, Microsoft Entra ID P1/P2, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, Project, or Visio are included in a license but cannot be evaluated for usage.
Fixes
Clearer distinction between assigned and active license usage
License assignment results now distinguish between licenses that are assigned and licenses that are actively used. Previously, fully assigned licenses could be interpreted as fully utilized, even when some assigned users showed little or no activity. Results now clearly indicate that assignment status alone does not reflect user activity.
Cleaner formatting in assistant responses
Section headings no longer display unintended formatting characters. Previously, some responses could display visible heading markup instead of properly formatted section titles.
More complete reporting for full data export requests
Requests for complete reports now return the full dataset whenever possible. Previously, large result sets could be summarized even when a complete export was requested. When necessary, results are provided through CSV exports or multiple files to preserve all available data.
More reliable device and user lookups
Lookups by exact device or user display name now perform additional validation when no direct match is found. Previously, some existing devices or users could be reported as unavailable when an exact-name search failed. The assistant now performs broader matching to improve search accuracy.
Improved organization context retention
The assistant now maintains the current organization context more consistently throughout a conversation. Previously, after several interactions, organization selection could occasionally shift to a domain associated with a user's email address, resulting in unsuccessful organization lookups. The active organization now remains the primary context unless explicitly changed.
